Hey everyone--

The place where I have been teaching jiu-jitsu classes twice a week for the last few years is probably going to be needing another jiu-jitsu coach soon. Between work, family, and just needing to focus soley on being a student again I'm not going to be able to do it much longer, but I pledged to the owner of the place that I'd try to find a good replacement.

First things first: It is NOT a Guerilla Jiu-Jitsu affiliate. It is a martial arts school run by a guy who used to train in the mornings with the AKA fight team and also took Dave's jiu-jitsu classes back in the day. He asked me to come run a jiu-jitsu program at his karate school and with Dave's blessing I did.

About the school and owner: The guy's name is Joe Soltis, and he is a tremendous person and martial artist, which is why it's important to me to try to find a quality person to run his classes. He owns a West Coast Martial Arts school in South San Jose, and there is a group of about five to eight guys that take jiu-jitsu class regularly, and a scattered bunch of other students that jump in and out.

Those that have taken it seriously have progressed well for only training once-twice a week for 45 minutes at a time. In fact, I promoted Joe and another guy to blue belt after getting my brown, and having brought in one of Dave's blue belts to train with them before I am confident that the promotions were deserving. If they trained with us full time they'd be solid purple belts at least.

Joe has taken care of me quite well, and whoever replaces me can probably expect to make at least $300 a month depending on how much they can teach. I am hoping to find a purple belt or higher, and someone who is enthusiastic about teaching and not just looking for a group of guys to slap around twice a week.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please shoot me an email @ dray_miller@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Dray
